I feel, look and probably smell like the walking dead. That’s what twenty hours of flying does to you....

Btb. Flew from the west coast to Netherlands to UK last time I went. Do not enjoy the flight at all. Ambien or xanax helps though. Snooze cruise!

That’s a long time to fly. Your arms must be tired.

long haul flights like that are a pain in the arse!

Welcome to the U.K. fella. I hope your flight wasn’t too bad.
You’ll no doubt be heading straight to your digs. If your place doesn’t have internet or wifi set up already you can use any Costa coffee shop, McDonalds, etc... for free wifi in the meantime.

Welcome to our little country, hope you enjoy it, the weather is meant to behave itself this weekend as well. Where about are you staying in our fair land?

York. Just landed in Manchester and having a bit of breakfast

Yay I live in Manchester! York is a stunning place, was there a few months ago and had a lovely day. Enjoy your stay!

Welcome. If you’re ever having trouble fitting in in England remember to complain about the weather and drink 20 cups of tea a day. People will think you’re from here.

This is the most british comment in Oppo history. I love it

You have a great time over there. Enjoy the history. And it’s famous weather of course.

Actually I’m staying overnight at one of the airport’s hotels. My uni pickup service doesn’t start until tomorrow and frankly I’m not bothered to lug nearly 40kg of worldly possessions on a two hour train ride to York :P

Flight was fine (except for the crying baby but let’s just ignore that or I may kill it). Love how Etihad has enough legroom in economy for moderately tall people. And I got an emergency seat exit for the first leg of my trip, SO ALL THE LEGROOMZ

I have yet to complain about the weather, but I’ve already had plenty of tea. So I’m halfway there :P

Sounds sensible. Any plans for today apart from recovering from the flight? If you get a bit bored in the airport/hotel, you could leave your stuff in your room and jump on a bus into Hale/Altrincham - it’s about five minutes from the airport to a decent pub.
It’s been a while, but:

I’ve actually got a few uni admin things to sort out. Maybe another time x)

It’s still early yet. Get them sorted, then pub o’clock :)

Weather’s great today actually. Bit cloudy now, but when I got here it was cloudless and hella sunny.

I went to Watford today (just north of London) from Brighton on the south coast and got alternating rain and sun.
